The Arabidopsis sorting nexins SNX1 (AT5G06140), SNX2a (AT5G58440) and SNX2b (AT5G07120) possess a PX domain and two coiled-coil regions constituting BAR domains at the C-terminus. Inhibition of retromer function in vivo by expression of SNX1 or SNX2a mutants as well as transient RNAi knockdown of all sorting nexins led to accumulation of the VSR BP80 at the TGN.
