DOG1 belongs to a novel plant-specific gene family whose members include: DOG1-like 1-4 (DOGL1-4, AT4G18660, AT4G18680, AT4G18690, AT4G18650, respectively) and DOG1 (AT5G45830). DOG1 was recently identiﬁed as a major regulator of dormancy in Arabidopsis thaliana.
